Frequently Asked Questions

Tell me more about CNRx Membership!

There are three levels of membership. All are free, but only the latter two open to those with ongoing affiliations at a college or university. All members receive occasional newsletters.

CNRx Engaged Individual is open to anyone interested in CNRx!
CNRx Affiliate Membership is open to institutional representatives that are interested in the Campus Nature Rx network.
CNRx Active Membership is free and open to institutional representatives that manage established, active outreach, teaching, and/or research aimed at supporting campus health and well-being. Active members design and run their own programs and when approved, will be offered a webpage on the official CNRx website.

I want to start a Campus Nature Rx program at my institution. How should I begin?

Read the book Nature Rx: Improving College-Student Mental Health (2019), co-written by our very own CNRx Co-Director Don Rakow.
Read the Frontiers in Psychology article Campus Nature Rx: How investing in nature interventions benefits college students (2022), by CNRx co-directors.
Check out the Resources tab on campusnature.com for other helpful materials, including “Nature Rx: Guide for first year college and university students,” and a step by step guide for starting a program called “Framework for Development of a New Campus Nature Rx Program.”
Get ideas and inspiration at our free, virtual symposium, held each Fall. Symposium registration is advertised in our newsletter, so be sure to sign up to keep up to speed. We also add the registration link to campusnature.com in early fall. Watch presentations from previous years at CNRx YouTube.
For an elevated level of guidance and support, consider applying for the Campus Nature Rx Academy Certification Program.
