Nature Rx

UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden

Nature Rx (Est. 2016)

Led by the UC Davis Arboretum and Public Garden, the Nature Rx program at UC Davis leverages the health and well-being benefits of spending time in nature to help students, staff, faculty, and the local community to connect to campus, interact with the natural world, and build community. First launched in 2016, the Nature Rx Program consists of a first-year seminar, a staff and faculty health and well-being series, a student leadership internship Learning by Leading™ program, and a campus-wide initiative called Healthy Outside. The Nature Rx program also includes campus and community Nature Rx events and place-based gardens and interventions such as Chair Share, GATEway Gardens, and the Sheepmowers project.
