NatureRx@Calvin

NatureRx@Calvin (Est. 2021)

NatureRx@Calvin is a collaborative initiative that communicates the benefits of engagement with nature—improved mental health, physical wellbeing, and sense of community—and facilitates this engagement through inclusive programs and self-service resources on the campus of Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

The initiative is guided by a steering committee with members from the Calvin Ecosystem Preserve & Native Gardens, Outdoor Recreation, the Center for Counseling Wellness, Student Life, Service Learning, and faculty from the Academic Division. We are in the process of developing a communication strategy to inform and engage the Calvin community about the initiative. This includes the development of a webpage with an interactive map and marketing materials. Additional goals include development of signature NatureRx@Calvin events and improving outdoor learning and gathering spaces to encourage academic and personal use of campus greenspaces.
