CNRx Symposium, 2022
3rd Annual CNRx Symposium (2022)
Mental health issues are on the rise among college students, and universities are struggling to support them. The pandemic’s impact has only magnified these trends, resulting in increased occurrences of depression, anxiety, stress, and other mental health conditions. Research supports what we inherently know: spending time in nature provides myriad benefits to our health and well-being. The Campus Nature Rx Network (CNRx) brings together the people behind the organized programs at colleges and universities that encourage and support students, and other campus community members, to spend time in nature.
November 4th, 2022 (12-4pm EST) we held our 3rd annual symposium, virtually. Symposium presentations and discussions supported the case for equity in nature engagement on campuses; provided tips and ideas for innovative campus collaborations; and shared the work of innovative programs. The meeting was free and open to the public, and was relevant to those interested in starting or expanding campus nature programs, curious about the movement and wanting to learn more, and/or looking to network with like-minded people.
